The only untouched enemy seems to be the goon - a hulking, seven-foot-tall zombie that can knock the player off their feet with ease. Hellraid‘s visuals have been given an attractive overhaul - the concrete towers and corrugated steel shanty towns of the Dying Light campaign have replaced by stone walls, wooden bookcases, and wrought-iron cages as far as the eye can see.Įnemies have also been reskinned, with zombies turned glowing and inhuman, raiders replaced by sword-wielding skeletons, and the charger boss has been replaced with a delightfully appropriate mythical creature I won’t spoil here. Up to four players can take on the challenge, scavenging for medieval weaponry and explosive flasks to help them deal with zombies that come charging out of the demonic portals that spawn in each new location. Players start it and find themselves transported into an inverted tower - a series of linked rooms and hallways that spiral downwards until they reach a pit where a boss guards a treasure horde. Hellraid exists as a game-with-a-game, appearing in the form of an arcade cabinet in the ground floor of the Tower which acts as Dying Light‘s main mission hub. Whatever the story behind Hellraid’s release may be, it’s here now and it doesn’t live up to the standard set by Dying Light‘s main mode. Others say it was being developed as its own game, which seems doubtful given what a tiny amount of content the DLC offers. There are a number of stories about Hellraid‘s troubled development floating around - some say it started life as a Dead Island 2 mode, which wouldn’t be shocking as it features basically zero parkour. With the release of Dying Light 2 inching closer all the time, Techland has made the decision to amp up excitement by releasing the (presumably) final piece of Dying Light DLC - Hellraid. WTF So… no hints at all about the secrets? LOW Those zombie sorcerers are way too fast. That way when you die, you'll only lose a small amount of XP.HIGH Finally figuring out the final boss’ pattern and weakness. So the only suggestion I'd make is the same one when playing Nightmare difficulty and you're working to raise your Legend levels, complete the Legend level you're currently on, BEFORE trying the Hellraid beta. However, others have reported losing their current Legend level points when they die in the Hellraid map, which is the regular DL game behavior when you play on Nightmare difficulty. My save file still works correctly, and I didn't lose any items by playing the DLC, because everything in my prior inventory was in my stash. I Alt-Tabbed out of the game, restarted my computer, and when I went back into DL, I was still in the Hellraid map, but this time the accessing the portal to the Slums worked, and I was back in the Tower pretty quickly. The only glitch I found was after completing the level 1 beta access of the Hellraid map, when I chose the portal to go back to the Tower in the Slums, my game got stuck on the Loading screen. Again ,when you enter the Hellraid map, you have nothing in inventory, and during the play through you find weapons and other items. Went over to it, and interacted, and then started the Hellraid beta access play. I switched to tracking Hellraid DLC in Quests, went to the Tower, and then went to the room opposite the first floor vendor, and saw the arcade game. Upon starting my game in the Slums by choosing Play Campaign, I received a message saying that my save game file needed to be updated, and after it completed, I was put into the Slums tracking the last quest there. I was finishing a play through of the Following and quit before completing the final mission, in order to switch to the main campaign, and play the beta access of the Hellraid DLC, (after pre-purchasing). The mechanics work exactly like the Pit mission in the Slums, where you fight the Demolisher, and the Museum mission in Old Town, when you fight Tahir. Your character/stats carries over to the Hellraid map, but you're inventory is emptied.
